Rutherglen is located on the border of New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria. It is a well preserved gold rush town and one of the oldest wine regions in Australia. Many of the wineries are family run of 5+ generations.
Rutherglen is famous for its fortified wines. It's flagship table wine is Durif (Petit Syrah) with Marsanne also becoming popular.
