Rutherglen is located on the border of New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria. It is a well preserved gold rush town and one of the oldest wine regions in Australia. Many of the wineries are family run of 5+ generations.
Rutherglen is famous for its fortified wines. It's flagship table wine is Durif (Petit Syrah) with Marsanne also becoming popular.

Beechworth is one of the best preserved towns in Victoria and is rich with goldrush and bushranger history.
It is also home to some extraordinary cool climate wines. The flagship wine is Chardonnay.
